Good morning, St. Louis.
Posted by Katie Favazza - 07/11/08 at 12:07 pmI’m at home in St. Louis visiting my family and happy to be away from the hustle and bustle of Washington, D.C. for a long weekend.
Here’s what I’m reading today:
- A vote for President is a vote for judges: Quin Hillyer, of The Washington Examiner, has written a great column reminding us of one of the less sexy, but critically important reasons to think about the consequences of our votes this fall.
- Rangel’s Rent Control: Somebody might be in trouble for this one. (H/T: Heritage’s “The Foundry” blog)
- Field Trip: It’s enough to make me want to reconsider journalism school.
- Can we possibly be this lucky?: Welcome news, Ed. Quite welcome. Bonus link: Ed Morrissey interviewed Mary Katharine Ham yesterday.
- A different way to get Chuck Todd in the White House: I like it, though I must confess, I may prefer this option.
- InBev ups the anty: Anheuser-Busch may have no choice but to reconsider. Bonus link: George Will and MKH think beer saved civilization.
I’m still coming up with a schedule for my visit here in the Show Me State. My first stop (besides going out for coffee this morning) is obvious. I will also likely hit up the Lee and Grant exhibit at the Missouri History Museum, the Missouri Botanical Garden, the new casino in town, and the Moolah for bowling, drinks, or a movie (or all of the above).
In the coming days, I’ll pen an official “this is my new blog” post. Stay tuned.
I’ll leave you with a video of a song I can’t get out of my head. My dad just bought this song for his iPod:
