Heading to CPAC

Posted by Catherine Favazza - 02/25/09 at 02:02 pm

Every year about this time, the American Conservative Union–with the help of dozens of other center-right organizations–hosts CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Conference. This year the event runs Thursday, February 26 to Saturday, February 28 and will draw more conservatives than ever before. (Who said it wasn’t cool to be conservative?) Speakers include, in no particular order, John Bolton, Joe the Plumber, Michael Barone, Mike Huckabee, Michael Steele, Joe Scarborough, Rep. Tom Price, Grover Norquist, Rep. John Boehner, Grace-Marie Turner, Paul Jacob, Karl Rove and many, many more.

I’ll be at the conference most of the day Thursday, Friday and Saturday, so if you’re attending the event and want to meet up, send me an e-mail or a message on Twitter. I’m really looking forward to meeting some of my readers and fellow members of Smart Girl Politics for the first time.

If you can’t make it, we won’t let you miss out of too much. I’ll be blogging about the speakers, book signings and other events on behalf of American Issues Project. Check out my personal Twitter posts about the event all weekend, available here on my blog for those who are not Twitter users. Additionally, you can check out the agenda here and, if there’s something that interests you, catch the live-streaming video of the event.
