Political colors – not just red, white and blue
Posted by Kirsten Wright - 03/11/09 at 08:03 pmWhen looking at many of the political blog designs, many people tend to stick to the ‘traditional’ red, white and blue and the cartoon elephant or donkey. It is easy to recognize and immediately makes it clear that it is a political site. But, there are other ways to do the same thing, without these 3 colors in such boring hues, and with a little more fun. Below are 5 color combinations to shake up your design, without sticking with just the colors of the flag. I have also included a few images that you could use in a banner, or in a post, to show off a political site (or post) without the traditional imagery.
Here are the different color combo’s…each combo is a hue of red, white or blue, I just added in a bit of another color too. Feel free to use them!

Now for the images…all images courtesy of istock, click on an image to be taken to where you can purchase.
So next time you are thinking of colors or images to paint a political picture, try something new!
