Obama’s Online Town Hall: Rally Around This Question

Posted by Catherine Favazza - 03/25/09 at 11:03 am

President Obama is inviting Americans to submit questions to an online forum and tomorrow, he will answer the most popular questions in an online town hall meeting. Folks who register can vote a question up or down to help it get picked for tomorrow.

One of the most popular questions right now on the site deserves our support. “Peter V.” in Oregon asks:

I appreciate the efforts of the administration to fix the economy quickly. However, why aren’t you giving the American public the chance to review these bills? In your campaign, you promised we would have at least 5 days.

Let’s show our support for Peter’s question.

There is no exact link to individual questions or sections, so follow these instructions to vote up this question:
1. Go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/OpenForQuestions.
2. Click “View questions” under the welcome video.
3. Scroll down and look for “Peter V.” from Oregon.

Right now, it’s the 6th most popular question. Let’s keep it at the top of the list!

Please forward this to others who are frustrated by the speed at which new, massive legislation is being passed. Senators and congressmen have already admitted that they don’t have enough time to read the final versions of these bills; both legislators and the American people alike should have the opportunity to do so, as the president promised.
