Rep. Russ Carnahan Expected to Tout “Cash for Clunkers” Success at South St. Louis Ford Dealership

Rep. Russ Carnahan is holding a press conference tomorrow, Tuesday, August 4th, at 10:00 a.m. at McMahon Ford in South St. Louis. A source–and the St. Louis Post Dispatch and St. Louis Beacon–say he’s going to brag about “Cash for Clunkers.”

“This is a smart program that will help grow our clean-energy economy, cut down on pollution and save money at the pump as we reduce consumption by over 250 million gallons of gas,” the St. Louis Democrat said in a statement. “It goes a long way towards getting Americans back to work and behind the wheel of a cleaner, more environmentally-friendly car.”

Any Missourians interested in attending? Folks with a videocamera or those interested in jeering or a little boots-on-the-ground opposition research might enjoy attending. The dealership is located at 4100 Gravois Ave. (at Gravois and Chippewa) and can be reached at 314-664-4100.

(In the words of blogger Allahpundit, “Just a reminder: Cash for Clunkers requires destroying perfectly usable cars.”)

    Hi Katie:

Thanks for the heads-up. I don’t think I can make it, but do plan on attending McCaskill’s soiree this month.I am also contemplating sending her a letter with my concerns/criticisms of Obama (I refuse to call him President)and his idiotic health plan. If I do, I’ll copy you.

    Dave
