Russ Carnahan’s Next Bad Idea: Address “Aging” in a Culture of Death

On “Cash for Clunkers,” he slips out the back door and shuts out the community for whom he works. On health care, he’s already a laughingstock and he’s about to dig himself into a deeper hole.

According to the Missouri AARP Facebook page, Rep. Russ Carnahan will address “Aging in America” Thursday evening before an audience at Bernard Middle School (1054 Forder Road, near 270 & Lemay Ferry). He’s already expressed his unwavering support for government takeover of health care, which includes mandatory “counseling” on aging and dying for the elderly.

Many believe this mandatory “counseling” on how to die with dignity is intended to guilt the elderly into recognizing their financial burden on the system, and it’s not as radical an idea as it sounds. The Left is already talking about how the last 6 months of your life aren’t really worth the cost. (Please, click on that link. This is not an exaggeration.)

It’s no secret that the older you get, the more your health care costs; with your medical care in the hands of bureaucrats and government-appointed “counselors,” why wouldn’t they encourage you to consider assisted suicide? As a fiscal conservative, I’m all for the government saving money, but this is dangerously close to–if not literally–advocating for suicide.

Do you want bureaucrats deciding if you live or die?

Missourians: Head to the aging event on Thursday and let Russ Carnahan know what you think about the government taking charge of “Aging in America.”
