Fact Checks Abound: What the White House and the Democrats Don’t Want You to Read

Everyone’s a fact-checker now.

The White House is getting nervous. Their new website–shiny and a great example of using social media it may be–demonstrates a growing uneasiness. (Not to mention, “the greater the level of Carville viritrol, the more they are losing.”) The Washington Post and other Beltway elites can write off town hall meetings and fears about “death panels,” but they are having an impact.

If you’re looking for reliable information to fact check the President, I suggest the Heritage Foundation’s great reality check at FixHealthCarePolicy.com, where they’ve posted text and video clips. This reference bears a striking resemblence to the White House resource it seeks to refute, complete with video clips of staff members chatting about the concerns–a brilliant move by the unmatched think tank.

Other solid fact-checking materials out today include one from The Associated Press and a column by my friend Kirsten Wright at American Issues Project.

What resources have you found most effective in learning about the proposed health care overhaul?
