Liberal Children’s Books: A Spontaneous Twitter Game

Posted by Catherine Favazza - 09/01/09 at 09:09 am

Last night a seemingly spontaneous group of conservatives and Republicans started playing a game on Twitter. I first saw a message from Stephen Green (@Vodkapundit) with the hashtag (a code that enables an easy, quick search for similar Tweets) #liberalchildrensbooks that said, “Oh the Thinks You Can’t Think!” I searched the hashtag to see what others had been suggested, and decided to jump in myself.

Here are a few of the titles I suggested:

Alexander and the Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Day with George W. Bush

If You Give a Rich Person a Tax Cut

Cheney’s Web

Sarah, Plain and Dumb

James and the Giant Deficit

Dick Cheney and the Chamber of Secrets

SEIU and the Chocolate Factory

The Berenstain Bears and No More Whole Foods

Are You There, God? It’s Me, Christopher Hitchens

Oh, The Places You’ll Earmark!

Their Eyes Were Watching Markos

Some of my favorites from other people:

One Fish, No Fish, Your Fish Is My Fish

Curious George W. Bush

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Czar

The Importance of Pretending to be Earnest

The Little Engine that Could Get Capped and Traded

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pantsuit

A Florescent Bulb in the Attic

Goodnight Grandma

Death of a Car Salesman

Bob the Builder Collects Unemployment

The Berenstain Bears and the Trouble with Blue Dogs

Do a Twitter search of #liberalchildrensbooks if you’re interested in reading more.

Did those of us playing last night forget a good one? Post it in the comments below!
